Building Impact One
Mikolaj Sekutowicz is an entrepreneur, urban strategist, investor and ecosystem innovator working at the intersection of cities, biodiversity, public health and long-term value creation. As Managing Director of Impact One, he leads the development of nature-positive urban platforms that bring together investment, research and multidisciplinary expertise to create healthier and more resilient places.
Over more than 25 years, Mikolaj has worked across urban development, real estate, wellbeing infrastructure, culture and environmental innovation, exploring how the places we create can better support both human and planetary health. His work has consistently focused on connecting disciplines — investment, architecture, science, culture and ecology — to develop new models for the future of cities.
His current focus is the delivery of regenerative urban development platforms that align environmental performance, public health and long-term investment value
01 — Wellbeing Infrastructure
Mikolaj’s earlier work centred on redefining the relationship between wellbeing, culture and the built environment. As Vice President and Board Member of Therme Group from 2017 to 2023, he helped shape the concept of Wellbeing Infrastructure, exploring how health, nature, architecture and experience can come together to create new models for urban life. And he led the development of Suntago in Poland, which opened in 2020 and became one of Europe’s largest indoor water and wellbeing destinations.

02 — Cultural Platforms
In 2020, Mikolaj founded the Wellbeing Culture Forum, an international platform created in response to COVID-19 to explore the relationship between culture, health, cities and the natural environment. The initiative brought together more than 150 architects, artists, scientists, policymakers and public health experts, among them Hans Ulrich Obrist, Virgil Abloh, Stefano Mancuso and Sonia Boyce. The Forum became an early foundation for later work exploring wellbeing infrastructure, regenerative development and nature-positive cities.

03 — One Health & Nature-Positive Cities
Mikolaj founded the One Health Research Centre, an interdisciplinary platform exploring the relationship between built environments, biodiversity and human health. He is also a founding member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Commission on Nature-Positive Cities, contributing to global frameworks on biodiversity integration, regenerative urban development and urban resilience. He is a member of the Davos Baukultur Alliance, supporting dialogue on the role of nature, culture and design in shaping future cities.

04 — Biodiversity & Regenerative Models
Following visits to indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest, Mikolaj founded the Possible Futures Initiative to explore new approaches to biodiversity value creation, indigenous stewardship and regenerative development. Launched through the Forest One programme during COP27, the initiative brought together indigenous leaders, scientists and policymakers to explore new relationships between biodiversity, culture and economic systems.
